“Embracing Evolution: Shakira’s Musical Journey and the Beauty of Growth”

Shakira has a preference for her more recent music over her earlier songs. The 47-year-old singer, best known for hits like ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, wrote her first song, ‘Tus Gafas Oscuras’, at the age of eight. She believes that her newer music has evolved both lyrically and stylistically, which is why she enjoys it more.

In a recent interview with Nile Rodgers on Deep Hidden Meaning Radio on Apple Music 1, the singer behind the hit song ‘Whenever, Wherever’ discussed her latest album ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ which was released last month. She reflected on how this album symbolizes a new chapter in her life and personal growth. She expressed how she now prefers the music she creates today compared to her past work, wondering if this evolution and self-improvement is something that happens to everyone as they age.

I often ponder if all artists experience this evolution. Personally, I prefer the music I create now, my singing style, interpretations, and writing compared to what I did 20 years ago. I feel confident in my stylistic choices at this stage of my career.

Nile concurred with my perspective and added, “I believe that’s what we call maturity. Growth is essential in the creative process. If you remain stagnant, what’s the purpose of being an artist? It’s about pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons. For me, I believe my best work is yet to come, and I am excited about the future.”

Reflecting on her journey, Shakira shared that she prefers new music over old ones. She believes that growth is a beautiful thing!
